- Most of the Ceibo's debuggers run in demo mode while your computer cannot link to the emulator. Example 1: get a demo of 8051 tools downloading DS-51. Then, install the debugger. You will see a message: Error #32 - Communications Error. Go to the Options Menu and select: Mode, Simulation. - It's interesting that embedded development environments really haven't changed all that much over the years. During the first half of the 70s I worked with an Intellec 8, a pseudo emulator for the 8008. A teletype with paper tape reader and punch served as both console and mass storage.
